![]() All About Delaware YOUR HOME FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS will be the city of Delaware, Ohio, a community of 33,000+ residents located north of Columbus, the capital city of Ohio. Delaware has a small-town feel with all the amenities of a larger town. Tree-lined streets with turn-of-the-century homes set the stage for an historic downtown and active central business district. Restaurants, shops, movie theatres, and cultural events entertain students, residents, and visitors. The array of cultural offerings is unusual for a community of this size. The Arts Castle, home to the Delaware County Cultural Arts Center, offers classes ranging from ballet to fiber arts. Downtown stores meet almost any need. There are hardware stores, bookstores, and a cycling shop. There is a music store, candy shop, clothing stores, and gift shops. An antique store or two can be found on nearly every block. Coffee shops, delis, cafés, and restaurants offer a variety of menus for a college student's wallet. You can't miss The Hamburger Inn and its sandwiches or donuts before taking in a movie at the renovated Strand Theatre, which dates to 1914. The Brown Jug is well known for its food—and for the major harness racing event of the same name. Please browse the links below to learn more about our town:
