January Orientation

Dear New OWU Student:

On behalf of the entire Ohio Wesleyan community, welcome! To help you get off to a good start, we will have a brief Orientation program for you on Sunday, January 11, 2009.

The program will begin with lunch at noon and will last until about 3:30 p.m. It will take place in Faculty Staff Dining Room of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center number one on the on-line map. Parents/family members/guests are welcome to attend lunch and the program also.

Included on the program agenda will be:

• Ms. Leslie Delerme, Director of Career Services
• Dr. Joan McLean, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and First-Year Students
• Ms. Wendy Piper, Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Residential Life
• Ms. Sally Sikorski, Registrar
• Dr. Craig Ullom, Vice President of Student Affairs

Students will have a chance to meet with Anthony Rosato ’09 and Amy Gallagher ’10 two upper class students, and parents/family will have some time to ask questions in a session just for them. Everyone will have a chance to take a campus/town tour.

We will also have a folder of information for you with material that should be helpful in your first few weeks at Ohio Wesleyan University as well as some paperwork to complete and return during the Orientation program. Be sure to view our campus map and directions.

You may move into your residence hall anytime after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 11th. You will need to report to the building in which you will be living and go to the lobby desk to retrieve your room key. In order to make certain you have a room to move into, please make sure you have completed the housing application, as this is the form that the Residential Life staff uses to make your housing assignment. To access the application you will need to enter your birth date and a PIN number (your OWU ID number). If you happen to be a student who deferred attending OWU you have probably previously completed this form. Your housing assignment will be sent to you via e-mail the week of January 5th. Please call the Residential Life office at 740/368-3175 or e-mail reslife@owu.edu if you have any questions.
